MADRID, January 19, 2024 – World Aviation Group officials, representing the only Spanish aviation company with offices and personnel in Tripoli, Libya, welcomed three of the first six Libyan specialists on Saturday who will participate in an intensive advanced training course in Spain. World Aviation is the first Aeronautical School in Europe to train Libyan professionals following the signing of an agreement with the Libyan Government’s public air ambulance company. This milestone is part of a broader effort to strengthen Libya’s aviation industry based on the parameters of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
The specialists will attend an intensive course at World Aviation Group’s facilities located at Madrid’s Cuatro Vientos Airport. The program, running until January 25, includes training in aircraft airworthiness maintenance, Maintenance Center management, and Maintenance Program development. These courses are essential for ensuring safety and efficiency in aviation operations and have been designed according to the technical needs expressed by Libyan Air Ambulance.
Despite the challenging context in Libya, this training program represents a positive step toward developing a safer and more professionalized aviation sector. Libya has recently faced severe flooding, especially in the northeast of the country, in cities such as Derna, Misrata, Al Bayda, and Marj.
